Sonya A. “Sonnie” Moore McNally, 63, of Alverton passed away peacefully, Wednesday Evening, May 18, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 24, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of Charles Moore and the late Rebecca Moore.
Sonya was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1977. In 1971, she met John D. McNally and they wed in 1980, going onto have 3 children, Tiffany, Jonathon and Adam.
Sonnie retired from Southmoreland School District in 2018 as a Teacher’s Aide. After retiring in 2018, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sonnie treasured spending time at Big Bear Lake with her family and friends. In her free time, she could be found reading, solving crossword puzzles or building jigsaw puzzles.
Sonnie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister to her family.
Sonnie is gone from our lives, but will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, in addition to her father, Sonnie is survived by;

A Gathering of friends will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 11AM – 12:00PM, at which time her Memorial Service will be held with Pastor Lee Maley, Officiating.
Private Inurnment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that Memorials be made to the Scottdale Public Library 106 Spring Street Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
