Shirley Davis Obituary

Shirley L. Gadd Davis, 89 passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Peroni Personal Care Home, Uniontown. Born on September 19, 1935, in Ralph, Fayette Co. the daughter of the late William E. And Lillian Hutzel Gadd. Shirley was a woman of grace and kindness who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. Shirley, known affectionately to all as a devout member of her community, held a lifelong dedication to Walnut Hill United Methodist Church of Georges Township. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her service as Treasurer of the United Methodist Women, Communion Stewart, and Trustee. Her church family will deeply miss her unwavering presence and gentle guidance. Professionally, Shirley was a respected Computer Clerk with the Election Bureau of Fayette County, where she served with diligence and integrity for 14 years before her retirement. Shirley's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughters, Wendy L. Rosner and her husband Mark of Uniontown, Mark N. Davis and Karen Griffin of Masontown, and Mindy B. Jones and her husband Phillip of Uniontown. Her grandchildren, Jason Rosner, Rebecca Rosner Feletes, Tyler Jones, Esq., Jessica Jones, and Drew Davis, brought her immense joy and pride. The light of her life shone brightly on her great-grandchildren, Bailey Trent, Trey, Myles and Colt Jones, Kaden, and Kensie Rosner, who will cherish the precious memories of their great-grandmother's love and kindness. Shirley was a beloved sister to Dolores Onesko of Penn Craft, Carole Barnhart and her husband George of McClellandtown, William E. Gadd and his wife Connie of Ark., Deberah Kula and her husband Frank of Uniontown, and Rhenee Kapr and her husband Frank of Scottdale. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her Husband, Clarence “Jack” L. Davis (December 7, 2020) Her Sister: Betty E. McFadden (May 6, 2011) Described as loving, faith-filled, and kind, Shirley's essence was one of compassion and warmth. Her ability to connect with people, her generous spirit, and her unwavering kindness are the hallmarks of her memory. Shirley's love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her guidance and support were the foundation upon which her family thrived. Shirley’s family will greet friends at the Walnut Hill United Methodist Church on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 11AM – 1PM at which time her Funeral Service will take place with her minister, Pastor Arnold Husk, officiating. Interment will follow in the Walnut Hill Church Cemetery, Uniontown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that Memorials be made to the Walnut Hill United Methodist Church 132 Collier Rd. Uniontown, Pa. 15401. Shirley’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
