Samuel F. Christner, 78 of Connellsville died peacefully Sunday morning, August 15, 2021 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg in the caring presence of his loving family.
He was born September 10, 1942 in Scottdale, the son of the late Francis (Hoot) and Goldie Kring Christner.
Sam was Catholic by faith and was a Graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1960. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the moose of Scottdale and the East Huntingdon Firemen Club.
He was a Professional Truck Driver and Owner/ Operator of Christner Trucking with over 50 years of service.
Sam was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Army serving from March 24, 1964 to March 23, 1966 , during the Viet Nam war, with the HHC USAG attaining, the rank of SP/4. He was the recipient of the Marksman Rifle and Expert Carbine Rifle Medals and the Good Conduct Medal.
He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates on television.
Sam is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,
His Loving and Devoted wife of 48 years, Carol Osniak Christner, whom he married January 19, 1973;

His Grandchildren:
Jesse Christner, Jonathan Christner, Alexandria Christner, James Markle and Sara Krouse.
His Great Grandchildren:

His Sister:
Doris Ray and husband George of Mt. Pleasant

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10AM in the Funeral Home with the Rev Richard Kosisko, Presiding.
Committal Services and interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Scottdale.
Full Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Scottdale, Everson Veterans Honor Guard.
