Ryan D. Fissella, 35 of Everson, passed away early Saturday morning, September 16, 2023, in the Emergency Department of Independence Health Frick Hospital. Mt. Pleasant, following a possible cardiac episode at his residence
He was born in Mount Pleasant, November 25, 1987, the son of Francis Fissella of Connellsville and Shelia Simmons Fissella of South West Greensburg.
Ryan was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale where he also Graduated from Paroachial School and was a Graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 2006.
Ryan enjoyed working with many local bands as a Road Crew Member, such as The Poverty Neck Hillbillies, The Crazy Cowboys, and Midnite Run. Ryan met his Wife Sarah at the Smithton Hole during a Midnite Run concert in 2005. They began dating on January 19, 2006 and have been together ever since.
Ryan was formerly employed as an Ambulance Dispatcher for American Ambulance Service, Uniontown and Elizabeth Township Ambulance Service.
He was presently employed as an Advanced Tech Support agent for AT&T from 2014 until present.
He was a member of Everson Volunteer Fire Dept. where he presently held the office of Assistant Treasurer. He was also Past President of the Fayette County Fireman’s Association. Ryan is also a member of Westmoreland County Team 211 search and rescue and was also a member of the Scottdale Moose.
He and his wife Sarah also enjoyed, as they referred to the “3 C’s, Cruising, Curling, and Concerts” Over the years they have attended over 500 Concerts together and enjoyed 11 Cruises on Carnival Cruise Lines. Ryan recently started curling and he was also a Board member of the Pittsburgh Curling Club. The three Cs brought a lot of good people into their lives and a lot of great friends who will miss Ryan very much.
He also enjoyed his “ Baby Yoda Family” he and Sarah created together during the pandemic that brought them to a very supportive online community.
In addition to his Parents, Ryan is survived by His loving and devoted Wife of 9 years, Sarah E. Bendel Fissella, whom he married April 26, 2014.

A Memorial gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Everson Volunteer Fireman’s Social Hall.
A Celebration of Life with lunch and fellowship will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM, followed by a Fireman’s Service at 6PM with Fayette a county Fireman’s Assoc. Chaplin Ed Zadylak, Presiding.
A Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 PM with Minister Jeff Lytle, Officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Sarah, or select the Donation tab on the Funeral Home Website to help offset the cost of the funeral arrangements. Donations can also be made to a local non profit Ryan was involved in.
