Ruth A. Thomas, 66, passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2026, at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born in Mt. Pleasant on September 4, 1959, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Ruth L. Shaulis Fosbrink. Known for her faith-filled spirit and thoughtful nature, Ruth's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and dedication. Ruth was a faithful member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant. A proud graduate of Southmoreland Class of 1977, she went on to pursue her passion for caring for others at Westmoreland County Community College, where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse in 2010. Ruth's commitment to health and well-being was evident in her over 20 years of dedicated service at Westmoreland Manor, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her warmth and professionalism. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed playing slot machines where she found joy and excitement in making those slot machines sing. Beyond her personal interests, Ruth's true legacy lies in the strong, faith-filled example she set for her beloved family. She was a loving mother to Carol Fetter and Barry Mortimer of Mt. Pleasant, and David Darulla, Jr. and his wife Verna of Scottdale. Her role as a grandmother was cherished just as deeply, as she nurtured and guided Jason Welch, Jr. and his fiancée Madelyn Lee, Ryan Fetter and his wife Margaret of Washington, Pa., Alyssa Wadsworth and her husband Elliot of Hopwood, and Jacob Satanek of Waltersburg, Pa. And her great-grandchild, Emerson Wadsworth. Ruth's siblings, Robert Fosbrink and his wife Judy of Everson, Harold Fosbrink of Mt.
