Rose Ann Dzik, affectionately known as Rose, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on June 12, 2024, in Scottdale, Pa., at the age of 80. Born on September 23, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., the daughter of the late Casimer S. and Josephine "Jo" Marie Beran Dreliszak. she was a beacon of love and generosity to all who knew her. Rose was a proud graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1961, and her professional life was marked by dedication and service. For 15 years, she was a familiar and friendly face at the Dollar General of Scottdale. Prior to that, she served as a secretary for St. John Parish of Scottdale. Her work, however, was only a part of who Rose was. Outside of her professional endeavors, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid nature lover, often found feeding birds and squirrels or enjoying quiet moments on her porch. Rose was also a talented home cook, known for her canning skills and homemade recipes that delighted her family and friends. Rose was a central figure in her family, often described as the glue that held them together. She is survived by her loving children: Len Dzik of Scottdale, Scott Dzik and his wife April Gaffney-Dzik of Leland, NC, and Lisa Dzik Miller and her husband Bob of Scottdale. Rose's legacy also lives on through her adored grandchildren: Ryan Dzik and Shelley Peterman, Lindsey Dzik and Tommy Adamson, Brandon Dzik and his wife Elora, Casey Dzik and Joseph Wilson, and Olivia Dzik. The joy of Rose's life was magnified by her great-grandchildren, Westin and Caspian Dzik, with whom she loved spending time and making everlasting memories. Her brother, Dr. Joseph Dreliszak of Scottdale, also survives her. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Dzik (1979) and siblings, Raymond Dreliszak and Nancy Chaybin. Rose's life was a living example of love in action. She was the epitome of generosity, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her selfless nature was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she cared for her family to the kindness she extended to friends and strangers alike.
