Ronald L. DeaVer, Sr., a lifelong resident of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, surrounded by his sons, who were his life.
Ron was born on December 30, 1940, in Connellsville to the late Clifford and Lela (Martin) DeaVer.
Ron was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School, class of 1958. He then started his career as a printer for over forty years. First, at the Connellsville Daily Courier then at the (Morning) Herald-Standard, Uniontown and finally at the Tribune-Review Greensburg beginning in 1971, where he then retired from in 2002.
He is survived by his three Loving sons, Ronnie, Danny and Greg (Denise) who loved him deeply. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Mary, who remained a friend.
His brothers-in-law Ed (Carol) and Jack (Lynne). Sister-in-law Debbie (Gerry) and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, sister-in-law Joan, and brothers-in-law, Bob and Sam, and a loyal dog named Lady who waited by the door for him to return home from work.
Ron was a Christian who loved God and his fellow man and woman. He was a devoted son who cared for his mother. He was a good man who even learned sign language so he could communicate with a deaf co-worker.
He enjoyed watching the Steelers, listening to oldies, going out with friends after work and being on the internet.
Thanks to the nurses at Westmoreland Hospital who cared for him in his final weeks and his visiting nurse, Cyndi.
In honoring Ron’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Ron’s Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
