Raymond Rozycki, Jr. Obituary

Raymond Lawrence Rozycki, Jr., 83, a resident of Dawson, PA in Lower Tyrone Township, passed into eternal life while surrounded by family in Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2025. He shared 57 years of happy marriage with loving wife Barbara Davis Rozycki. Born in Everson, PA., November 6, 1941,to Raymond Lawrence Rozycki, Sr. and Stella Getek Rozycki, Ray was one of three siblings. He is survived by two sisters: Dr. Rose Marie Pritts, MD and her husband Richard; and Doris Waters and her husband Eugene. He is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Ellen Wild; and brother-in-law David Davis. Ray is survived by three children: Christine King and husband Lang of Oakland, MD; Raymond Lawrence Rozycki Jr. and wife Donna of McDonald, PA; and Michelle Miller and husband Kevin of Ft. Wayne, IN. As cherished and loving Pap-Pap, Ray is survived by five grandchildren: Harmon Rozycki and fiancée Sabrina Bruno; Anika Rozycki; Ella Miller; Edward Miller; and Joseph Miller; as well as step-grandchildren Sasha Zacharius and husband Shane and their children Kia and Liam; and Seth King and his children James and Jasmine. Ray is a graduate of Waynesburg College with a B.S. in Mathematics and Education, where he was a brother of the Theta Chi fraternity. He is also a graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania with a Masters in Education. During his career at Southmoreland High School, Ray valued his numerous opportunities to teach Mathematics to younger generations. His entire tenure as a Mathematics teacher was at Southmoreland High School in Alverton, PA. Ray was a lifelong athlete. He enjoyed baseball, tennis, volleyball, running, biking, hunting, and walking in recent years. His hobbies were woodworking, polkas, photography, watching Hallmark movies, cutting grass, solving Sudoku puzzles, and spending time at the family cabin. His biggest joy was being with his family and enjoying time with his grandchildren. Ray was a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Joseph Church in Everson, PA. He enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph’s and St. John’s Churches in many different events, especially Charity Outreach. He loved his church and God. He will be loved and missed by his family throughout each generation to come. Ray’s family will greet friends on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. Prayers of transfer will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:30AM in the Funeral Home with his Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson with Fr. Paul Lisik as Celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson. The Rosary will be recited on Friday at 1:30PM in the Funeral Home.
