Phebe A. (Epp) Cressman

Phebe A. Epp Cressman, R.N. 89 of Walnut Ave. Scottdale, passed away early Thursday morning, June 1, 2023 at her home. She was born November 29, 1933 in Whitewater, Kansas the daughter of the late John and Marie Harder Epp. Phebe was a member of the Scottdale Mennonite Church and was an active Worship Leader and Sunday School Teacher. She was a Graduate of Berean Academy in 1951 as well as of Weaton School of Nursing, and she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Goshen College. Phebe was an instructor at Holy Cross School of Nursing for 2 years. She was employed as an R.N. for Dr. James Brubaker in Scottdale for 1 year in 1976. In 1977, she was employed by Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg with 5 years of service and in 1982 she was employed as an R.N. for the PA Dept of Health during the Aids Epidemic with 21 years of service. She was involved with the Book Club in Scottdale. She enjoyed sewing at the church and crocheting at Laurel Highlands, YMCA. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her flowers and coloring flowers in adult coloring books. Phebe is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, Her loving Children: Michael B. Cressman and wife Cori of Stow, MA. Jerold L. Cressman and wife Kristin of Westford, MA. Timothy Cressman of Scottdale Her Grandchildren: Luke and wife Chelsea Cressman, Ross and Marissa Cressman, Erin, Anna and Jonathan Read- Cressman, Rachel and Jake Mazza, Colin, Shane Cressman. A Great Granddaughter: Josephine Cressman Her Brother: Melvin Epp and wife Sylvia of VA. In addition to her parents, Phebe was preceded in death by, Husband, David W. Cressman (7-25-2017) Sisters: Hildegard Gossen, Martha, Freda Epp, Justina Martin Brothers: Albert & John Epp Private Committal and Interment services were held in the Scottdale Cemetery where she was interred next to her late Husband Phebe’s arrangements were entrusted to the care of the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC. 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale.
