Norene Price, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 75 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born on March 3, 1949, in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, Norene's spirited soul and kind heart touched many throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Connellsville High School. She dedicated herself to numerous causes, passionately advocating for the rights of individuals with disabilities. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she ran a successful karaoke business, bringing joy and music to many.
Norene's commitment to inclusivity and empowerment led her to found the Miss Wheelchair America Pageants, a platform that celebrates the achievements and beauty of women with disabilities. Her leadership and vision were also invaluable to the Westmoreland County Housing Authority, where she served as a committed board member.
Above all, Norene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her son, Steven B. Price of Jeannette; her cherished grandchildren, Jayden and Quentin, both of Michigan; her siblings, Richard Price of Ohio, James Price of California, Virginia Barber of Greensburg and Linda Burton of Connellsville; and a loving collection of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly for her nurturing spirit.
Norene was preceded in death by her Parents, James and Ethel Moon Price, Her son, Scott Price, and her granddaughter, Reanne Kenny, who passed in 2012. Two Sisters: Lorraine Meadows and Judy Betters.
Norene’s Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC. of 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
Final Inurnment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
