Minnie E. “Lizzie” Overly, 94 of Leighty Hollow Road, Ruffsdale, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, September 17, 2021 at her home, while being comforted by her family.
She was born November 22, 1926 in Fountain Run, Kentucky the daughter of the late Edgar and Martha Meadows Shaw.
Lizzie was a longtime and faithful member of Alverton United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Bowling Green, KY High School, Class of 1944. She and her late husband Charles owned and operated the Laurelville Motel for 10 years. Previously, she was employed as a machinist for American Greeting of Cleveland, Ohio for 8 years.
In her spare time, Lizzie enjoyed working outdoors, mowing her 10 acres of grass, gardening and weeding, leaving her homeplace neat and orderly.
Lizzie is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her,

Family and Friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683, Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM
Her Funeral Service will be held Wedneday at 11AM in the Funeral Home, with her Pastor, Tom Shirer, Officiating.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, South Huntingdon Twp.
