Michael Trice Obituary

Michael Trice Sr, 61 of Smithton, died Saturday morning,  January 22, 2022, in the comfort of his home, in the presence of family.

Michael died a loved and important man. He was a man of unshakable conviction and devoted his life in Christ. One of his favorite Bible passages was, Psalms 18:2 "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Mike was a man you wanted to model your life around, a man of integrity and love. He dedicated his life serving others by graduating from Fayette Vo-tech as a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at McKeesport Hospital for 11 years. He and his wife Tammy owned and operated a restaurant, the former Trice’s Slovak Restaurant, in Mt. Pleasant, for a number of years.

He loved children and served as a foster parent for Westmoreland County Children's Bureau and Families United, fostering numerous children and adopting several children. In addition to his parents, Wayne and Dolores (Vought) Trice, he was predeceased by his Son John Allen Trice, and Son In-law Deane W. Truszka. He is survived by his wife Tammy Trice of 40 years, children Michael Trice Jr (Rachal) of Smithton; Dempster Trice (Crystal) of Smithton; Cortland (Kelly "Opie") of Smithton; Priscilla ( belated Deane) Truszka of Scottdale; Ricky Trice of Smithton; Amberleen Wanda (fiancé Brandon Anthony) of Smithton; Terria Trice of West Virginia; Samantha Trice ( Boyfriend Colton Gourley) of New Stanton; Edward Trice, Orie Trice, Austin Trice and Nicholas Trice, all of Smithton; and 21 Grandchildren. Father In-law Arthur Kolar of Regantown; Mother In-law Pauline and Steve Toth of Smithton. His loving memory will be survived by all, due to his works in Christ our Lord.

A private visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, with Pastor Glen Richardson of The First Baptist Church, West Newton, officiating.

A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be later determined by his family.
