Mary Krol Obituary

Mary A. Krol, 100,  of rural Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, November 28, 2023 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born September 25, 1923, in Everson, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Berdzik Pietrzak.

Mary was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, where she was also a member of the former Ladies Guild.

Mary was a graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1942.

Mary was employed at Anchor Hocking in Connellsville as well as Robertshaw Controls, Youngwood for 10 years, until her marriage on June 28, 1952.

She enjoyed cooking and baking since she was 13 years old. She enjoyed baking fancy cakes for any occasion and wedding cakes for everyone in her family.

Mary learned to crochet in the 3rd grade from the Sisters of the Holy Spirit and did much crocheting for the Sisters and enjoyed selling her work to others.

When she was able, Mary enjoyed gardening and flowers. She always had a house full of flowers and plants.

Mary is gone from our lives, but will forever remain the hearts of those who knew and loved her,

Her Great Grandchildren:

Lily, Alayna and Tony “Buddy” Nativio all of New Salem

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by:

Her Husband, Stanley E. Krol (May 4, 2002)

Her Sisters: Anna Wisniewski (Aug. 5, 1995), Helen Solkoski (April 3,2001) and Bernice Kaczynski (Oct. 20, 2015)

Her Son-In-Law: Charles E. Bish (Dec. 4, 2007)

Family and Friends of Mary are cordially invited to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 417 PITTSBURGH STREET, SCOTTDALE, Friday, Dec. 1,2023 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8PM and Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 from 10 AM to 10:30 AM the hour of Prayers of Transfer, followed by a Con-Celebrated Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson with Rev. Elmer Forque, as Principal Celebrant.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.

The Funeral Home doors will be locked in between visiting hours.
