Mary Josephine Glovola,97 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, January 16,2021 in Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
She was born December 31,1923 in Everson, a daughter of the late Martin and Catherine Kedron Sikon.
Mary was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph/St John the Baptist R.C. Church.
Mary was the Founder and Instructor of St Joseph Polish Class in the 70’s teaching and promoting the Polish language, took her class to Penn State Fayette Campus, Lectured on Polish and had the 1st Wiglia Dinner for her polish class at St. Josephs School Hall.
She was a former St. Joseph Parish Council Member and Council Secretary under the pastorship of Fr. Aloysius Borkowski.
She was an officer of the former St. Joseph PTG and teacher aid at the former St. Joseph Parish School and was instrumental in having a demonstration of Pysanki, the decorating of Easter Eggs, for the parish.
She Belonged to the former St. Joseph Ladies Guild and was the editor of the St. Joseph Ladies Guild monthly Newsletter. She also entertained the Ladies Guild on her Accordion at the annual Christmas Parties.
Her Greatest Joy was singing in the church choir and served as director of the choir at St Josephs and also played the Violin for many Christmas Masses accompanied by her daughter Jane on the organ. She organized the St. Josephs Children’s Choir and composed/ copywrited a Christmas song many years ago that the school children would sing for Midnight Mass.
She also sang in the former Connellsville Community Chorus, Achieving a solo.
Her love for her family was endless
She is survived by her Daughters and Son-In-Laws.

Mary was predeceased in death by her Devoted husband of 48 years, Walter A. Glovola, August 30, 1995

A Private Visitation for Mary’s immediate family will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale.
Family and Friends are cordially invited to St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson Thursday January 21, 2021 at 11 AM, for a public Funeral Mass, with her Nephew, Rev. Michael Sikon, as Celebrant.
Committal Service and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson, next to her late Husband Walter.
