Martin E. “Ed” French, Jr. 84 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Scottdale, passed away Friday evening, November 3, 2023 at Amber House, Mt. Pleasant, in the presence of his loving Family. He was born January 4, 1939 in Connellsville, the son of the late Martin E. and Ruth Newell French, Sr. Ed was a longtime and faithful member of Bryan Methodist Church, Dawson. He was a graduate of Perryopolis High School Class of 1958. Ed was a retired Professional Truck Driver with numerous trucking companies in the area, with over 30 years of service. Ed was a proud Veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard. HQ HQ Co 28th Division 110th Infantry Bn., in Scottdale and was also a Veteran of the Army Reserves of Connellsville and attained the Rank of Sgt. Ed is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His Brother: Robert French of Fredricksburg, Pa. His Nephews: Robert French, II and wife Cassandra of McConnellsburg, Pa. Jonathan E. French and wife Breanne of Mars, Pa. His Niece: Judy Hammett and her husband Dorsey and their son, Matthew all of Ohiopyle. His Fiancé: Karen Armel of Mt. Inurnment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery.
