Martin F. “Mick” Burke, 88 of Scottdale passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, June 9, 2021, at Scottdale Manor and Rehab while being comforted by his loving family.
He was born January 15, 1933 in Owensdale, the son of the late Michael W. and Annabel Canose Burke.
Mick was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale.
He was Graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1951. Mick was a retired Service Man with Columbia Gas Company with 40 years of service.
He was proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with Battery “B” 449th, FA (Observer) BN. He was the recipient of the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and attained the Rank of Corporal.
He was a former member of the Scottdale V.F.W. Post #7781, Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post # 446, the Everson Polish American Club and Knights of Columbus.
Mick was an honorable and kind man, who loved his Family and was loved in return.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Florence E. Siecinski Burke, whom he married Oct. 20, 1962.

In addition to his Parents, Mick was preceded in death by:
Bothers: William Burke (Oct. 22, 2007), John “Jack” Burke (Apr. 17, 2016) and James “Jim” Burke (Apr. 8, 2012)
Sister: Lois Burke Grabiak (December 25, 2018)
Family and Friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Sunday from 4 – 8PM.
Prayers of Transfer will be held in the Funeral Home, Monday at 10:30AM with his Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, with Fr. Rick Kosisko, as Celebrant.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.
Military Honors will be accorded at the Gravesite, by the Honor Guard of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion #446.
In lieu of Customary remembrance’s Mick’s family requests that Memorial Contributions be directed to the Scottdale Fire Department, P.O. Box 73 Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
