Martin Adobato Obituary

Martin J. "Marty" Adobato, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on August 27, 1943, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, Marty was the son of the late Vincent and Lucy Talotta Adobato. Marty, grew up with his loving brothers, Vincent Adobato and wife Mary of Wilmington, DE and Richard P. Adobato and wife Tiffany of Vanderbilt, forging bonds and memories that would last a lifetime. He was a longtime and faithful member of St. Rita’s R.C. Church of Connellsville, as well as The Partner Parish of St. Joseph of Everson. A proud graduate of Dunbar Twp. High School's Class of 1962, Marty's work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident early on. His career spanned over four decades, including 37 years with U.S. Steel Irvin Works in the Tin Plate department, followed by 11 years serving the Borough of Everson as the street department manager. He was also employed by Tri Conn for 4 years. Marty's leadership extended into public service as he took on the role of Vice President on the Everson Borough Council, heading the street department for a decade. Marty's life was enriched by his beloved wife, Rita M. Martin Adobato, and their children, Christine M. Daniels and husband Greg of Hecla, Sonya Marie Zahrobsky and husband Kevin of Bullskin, and Martin J. Adobato, Jr. and wife  Becky of Scottdale, who each brought immense joy and pride to his life. He found additional happiness in his role as a grandfather to Sheri Santmyer and Jason, Andrew "Ben" Pollock and Christine, Emily Rose Adobato and Rod, Conner Adobato, and Shelb Zahrobsky and Kaylee and six foster grandchildren. His Great Grandchildren: Edward and Bella A man of the community, Marty was a long-standing member of the Everson Polish American Club, where he made history as the only full Italian Vice President, a testament to his affable nature and ability to unite people. His loving, friendly, and selfless character was a beacon of light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his Parents, Marty was preceded in death by: His Sister Joann Adobato Adams (July 19, 2008) Marty’s family will greet friends Sunday from 2 – 8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. Parting Prayers will be held at 9AM on Monday in the Funeral Home, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10AM in St. Rita’s R.C. Church, Connellsville, with Fr. Peter Guardiano as Celebrant. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Rita’s Cemetery, Connellsville.
