Marianne Leonard

Marianne Leonard, 90, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 10, 1935, the daughter of the late J.D. and Dorothy Stoner Leonard. Marianne's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, her community, and her many passions. Marianne, known affectionately to those close to her, was the heart of her family. She is survived by her adoring children: Kevin Leonard and his wife Marie of Youngwood, Shawn Leonard and his wife Sue of Boston, Jeanine Patton and her husband Wes of Scottdale, Patricia Bacorn and her husband Alan of Scottdale, and Jeffrey Leonard  and his wife Sandy of Scottdale. Her legacy of love continues through her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will cherish memories of her warmth and wisdom. Her siblings, Ken Leonard of Dawson, Timothy Leonard and his wife Sandra of Alverton, and Carolyn Maloy of Scottdale. Marianne's lifelong best friend, Kay Pritchard of Scottdale, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will miss her dearly. In addition to her Parents, Marianne was preceded in death by: Her Husband, Earl V. Leonard (May 13, 1992) Her Son, Earl Leonard,II (Nov. 7, 2023) Her Granddaughter, Nikki Leonard (2017) A proud graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1954, Marianne was a familiar and friendly face around town, serving as the meter maid for Scottdale Boro from 1983 to 2000. Her love for her community was as evident as her love for her family. Marianne's hands were rarely still, as she found joy in sewing, a skill she lovingly used to craft Halloween costumes for her children and to provide alterations for the people of Scottdale. Her creativity shone brightly as a charter member of the Hearts and Hands Quilt Guild, where her exquisite work will be remembered for generations. She was a member of the former Women's Garden Club, and her dedication to the youth of Scottdale was apparent in her role as a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack #155. In honoring Marianne’s wishes, there will be a Memorial Mass held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale with Fr. Julius Capongpongan as Celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Inurnment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.
