Margaret Fornataro Obituary

 

Margaret B. Boretsky Fornataro, 96, a long time resident of Scottdale, died Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018, at Redstone Highlands Personal Care Home, North Huntingdon.

She was born December 29, 1921, in Scottdale, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Bilcheck Boretsky.

Margaret was a long time member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.

She was graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1940. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Maryville College, Maryville, TN In 1944 and furthered her education, receiving her Master’s Degree from Colorado State University, Greeley, CO in 1950.

She taught in various locations including, Clinton High School, Clinton, TN from 1944 – 1947, East Huntingdon High School, 1947- 1950. Colorado State University from 1950 – 1952, Swissvale High School, from 1952- 1967 and her place of retirement, Connellsville High School from 1967 – 1982.

Margaret was a member of PA Educational Association, Fayette County Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

Margaret was an avid Golfer and in her spare time she enjoyed golfing at the local Country Clubs and Golf Courses.  Her other pastime was Volunteering at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant with 27 years service.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by:

Her loving Husband, Carmen Fornataro (April 15, 1982)

Two Sisters: Sophia McClure (1949), Anna B. Hankins (1998)

Three Brothers: Peter Boretsky (1958), George Boretsky (1970) and Steve Boretsky (1992).

Margaret’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale,  Saturday from 2 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM.

Additional visitation will be held Sunday from 10AM – 11:45AM in the Funeral Home where her Funeral Service will begin at 12PM with her Pastor, Rev. Robert Ellson, Officiating.

Chapel Services and Interment will follow in Greenridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made in memory of Margaret to the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church 645 W. Main Street Mt. Pleasant, Pa. 15666.
