Lawrence E. Newcomer

Lawrence “Larry” Edwin Newcomer, 65, of Scottdale passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2020 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  Larry was born May 11, 1955, a son of the late Clyde W. and Rita Virginia (Shandorf) Newcomer. He was a graduate of Southmoreland High School class of 1973. Larry was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. He was a caring man that would give you the shirt off of his back. Larry successfully owned and operated L.E. Newcomer Construction for over 30 years. He had a passion for classic cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, traveling, and model trains. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends. Larry was a longtime coach and volunteer for amateur wrestling.  He was an active member for over 50 years with Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling. Twenty of those years he spent as the state chairperson. He will be sadly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Larry is survived by his sons Kayne Newcomer and wife Megan (Whittaker) and Lee Newcomer and his wife Corrianne (Heskey). Three grandchildren that were the light of his life: Hartley, Claire, and Nash. Siblings: Lynda Jezewski, Lois Herlihy (John), Rita Bornstein (Ed), Marsha Decaria (Vince), Paula Peterson (Martin), Sharon Barclay (Barry), Claudia Webb, Beverly Stup (Jim), Kevin Newcomer (Laurie), Sheila Zimmerman (Tim), Nancy Johnson (John), Laura Newcomer.  Larry is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Clyde Jr, Kenneth, and Roger.  At Larry’s request there will be no service at this time but there will be a celebration of life at a later date.

 Larry’s Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
