Obituary

Kerry F. Rath, 77 of Prittstown Rd, Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, March 6, 2023 at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh of Greensburg.

He was born March 2, 1946 in Scottdale the son of the late George W. and Dessie V. Robinson Rath.

Kerry was a Graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1964. He was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Marines Corp.

Kerry was employed by Elliot Company, of Jeannette for 42 years as a Quality Control Inspector. Once he retired, he then became part of the Southmoreland School Police for over 20 years.

Kerry had such a love for trains and other small hobby items, that he owned and operated Hobbies Plus at his home for many years. Kerry could be seen at local fairs and festivals selling his hobby items, with his wife Jane and daughter Kylie at his side.

Kerry is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

His loving wife of 54 years, Melva “Jane” Miller Rath, whom he married August 3, 1968,

His Daughters:

Krista J. Loucks and Husband Tim of Scottdale

And Kylie J. Romesburg and Husband Robert of Connellsville

His Grandchildren:

Addison Loucks and her Fiancé Justin Morrow

Kolby Loucks

Gracin Loucks

Luke Romesburg

His Great Grandson:

Jaxen Morrow

And baby Morrow due next month (April)

In addition to his Parents, Kerry was preceded in death by:

Both his Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law

Melvin “Barney” Miller (2011) and his Wife Verda “Pug” Miller (2017)

His Brother:

George Rath, Jr.

His Sisters:

 Jane Sherrick, Rose Nist and Dolores Murphy.

Family and Friends of Kerry are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 12PM – 5:45PM at which time full Military Honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home by the Everson Scottdale Veterans Honor Guard followed by his Funeral Service at 6 PM with Pastor Robert Bixel, Officiating.

Interment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

A Special Thanks to the Nurses at RNC as well as Amedysis Hospice for the care and professionalism that was shown to Kerry and his family during this time.
