Kenneth Dalansky Obituary

Kenneth B. “Kenny” Dalansky, 60, of Greensburg, formerly of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, early Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at  U P M C Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, in the presence of his loving family, following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 20, 1957, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Juliana F. Kiliany Dalansky of Scottdale and the late Bernard “Ben” Dalansky (December 22, 2017)

Kenny was a member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church of Scottdale

He was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, class of 1975. He attended Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus.

Kenny then was employed by Sears of Greensburg, for a number of years.  He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, from November 1982 until August 2002 and served during the Gulf War and earned the Rank of T/ Sgt (E6).

He received the Air Force Achievement Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, with one oak leaf cluster, and the Air Force Overseas Longevity Service Medal with with three Oak Leaf Clusters and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver Star.

Kenny was a ranked chess player and he enjoyed fishing and drawing in his spare time.

Kenny was an honorable kind man who loved his family and was loved in return.

In addition to his Father, Kenny was predeceased by his Brother, Brian Dalansky, (April 30, 2012)

In addition to his mother, Julianana F. Kiliany Dalansky, Kenny is survived by:

His children: Christian Dalansky, of Greensburg

Christine Dalansky, of Tucson, AZ

And their mother, Leticia

His siblings:

Mark Dalansky and wife Pam, of Scottdale

Karen Wasil and husband Dave, of Adams Township

Gary Dalansky and wife Missy

And Julie Galando and husband John, all of Greensburg

And a number of nieces and nephews, Uncles and Aunts

Kenny’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Wedneday, February 28, from 4PM to 8 PM. Where Prayers of Transfer will be held Thursday, at  9:30 AM in the Funeral Home, where his Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM in The Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with his Pastor, Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, as Celebrant.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.

Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Lambing #314 will recite the Rosary Wednesday at 3:45 PM in the Funeral Home.

Southmoreland Veterans Association Honor Guard, will conduct Military Honors, Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the Funeral Home

A Parish wake service will be held Wednesday at 7:45PM in the Funeral Home.
