Kathleen Prinkey Obituary

Kathleen M. Prinkey, 79, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at her residence in Mt. Pleasant. Born on January 7, 1946, in Scottdale, the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mary Regina Brown Leonard. Kathy was a longtime and faithful member of St. Pius X R. C. Church, Mt. Pleasant. Kathy's was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Parochial School in Scottdale, then continued at East Huntingdon High School, graduating with the class of 1963. Her passion for helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a Pharmaceutical Technician, where she provided care and comfort to many. Kathy's dedication to her profession was evident in her 12 years of service with Diamond Pharmacy of Mt. Pleasant as well as her previous tenure at Torrence State Hospital in Blairsville. Beyond her professional life, Kathy was a pillar of love and support within her family. She was a devoted mother to her son, Gregory P. Prinkey and Lindy of Jeannette, Son -in-law, Mark Campbell and a grandmother to Mellisa Moore and her husband Tony, Raeann Campbell and Kord, and Hailee Prinkey. Kathy's nine great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and wisdom. Her bond with her niece, Michelle Johnson and husband Greg of Scottdale, was also a testament to her role as a cherished aunt. In her last months, Kathy was lovingly cared for by her great-granddaughter Paige, a role that Paige took on with great dedication and tenderness. Kathy's life was marked by the loving relationships she fostered, but also by the sorrow of loss. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond W. Prinkey, who passed away on August 22, 2001. The loss of her daughter, Kristine M. Campbell, on October 19, 2005. She was also predeceased by her siblings Robert Leonard, Thomas Leonard, Jim Leonard, Earl Leonard, Charles Leonard, John Leonard, Theona Keefer, Virginia Dolan, Walter Leonard, Mary Kropp, and Marie Paul. Those who knew Kathy remember her as a spirited soul with a kind heart. She had the remarkable ability to light up a room with her presence and to instill a sense of joy and comfort in those around her. Her unwavering spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at 1:30PM in the St. Pius X R.C. Church, 224 Summit Street Mt. Pleasant, Pa. 15666 with Fr. Tomas Avila as Celebrant. Everyone please go directly to the church. Private Inurnment will take place in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale at the convenience of the family.
