Katherine A. (Barcovtch) Lowanse

Katherine A. “Kathy” Barcovtch Lowanse, 30 of Sutersville, passed away Saturday evening, September 10, 2022 at her home.

She was born March 25, 1992 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Deborah A. Rohland Barcovtch and the late Pete Barcovtch, who passed away November 6, 2016, respectively.

Kathy was a longtime member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale.

She was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 2010, where she then attended St. Vincent College and obtained an Undergrad in Early Childhood Development in 2014. Kathy also received her Masters of Education in Applied Behavioral Analysis from California University in 2018.

She was currently employed with Insight PA Cyber Charter School as a Cyber School Teacher.

Kathy loved the Lord and was a beautiful person inside and out, always giving and selfless. She enjoyed taking walks with her mom and her dog Faith. Although Kathy didn’t live far from home, she loved to come “home” to the Family Farm and spend time with her family.

Kathy is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, In addition to her Mother, she is survived by,

Her Nephew who is due to be born, September 27, 2022, Brentley P. Barcovtch

Her Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law, Sheila and Craig Lowanse of West Newton

Her Brother-In-Law: Dylan Lowanse and Christina Grieco of Rillton

And a number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, whom loved her dearly.

A Private Visitation will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.

A Public Divine Liturgy will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 2PM in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale with Rev. Oleh Seremchuk, as Celebrant.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Scottdale
