Joyce A. (Coughenour) Stepanic

Joyce A. Coughenour Stepanic, 71 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, September 13, 2023 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, while being comforted by her loving family.

She was born September 24, 1951, the daughter of the late Paul Wayne and Marjorie Gail Felgar Coughenour, who died November 26, 2015 and March 2, 2022, respectively.

Joyce was a life member of the Mt. Olive Evangelical Church of Connellsville and a Graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1969.

She began her employment as a Bookkeeper with American General Insurance Company, Mt. Pleasant. She then became a Bookkeeper for the former Smith Auto Parts, Scottdale. Joyce was also employed by Westmore Insurance, Scottdale, with over 20 years’ service, with Tim Hurst.

Joyce always enjoyed cooking for her Family, she loved going to the flea markets and Antique shopping in Ohio and Sugar Creek. and enjoyed time spent in the local Casino’s and she loved traveling to the ocean with her daughter, “C.J.” for numerous vacations.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister and a friend to many. Joyce is gone from our lives but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Her Loving and devoted Husband of 49 years, Timothy R. Stepanic, whom she married September 29, 1973.

Her Sister:

Sandra L. Schliep and husband Lance of Bend, OR.

Her Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews also Great Great Nieces and Nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Her Sister-in-laws: Rose Polakowsky of Scottdale and Pat Stafira of Virginia.

Friends and Family of Joyce’s are cordially invited to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME, INC.,417 Pittsburg Street, Scottdale, Monday, September 18, 2023, from 2-4PM & 6-8PM. and Tuesday from 10 AM to 11 AM the Hour of her Funeral Service, in the Funeral Home, with her Pastor, Lee Maley, officiating. Committal Services and Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Connellsville.

The funeral home doors will be locked in between visiting hours.
