Josephine Sandzimier Obituary

 

Josephine Sabbers Sandzimier, 91, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home, Thursday Evening, December 16, 2021, while being comforted by her loving family.

She was born March 19,1930, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Joseph and Phyllis Danca Sabbers

In 1961, they opened their own business, Sandzimier Memorials, Josephine worked in the Monument Industry for 60 years of her life, alongside her late Husband Marion “Mun” “Hootch”.  She deeply enjoyed working with their customers and creating specialized monuments to remember their loved ones.  She took great pride in every detail of her work.  They were so proud of what they built from scratch and for what they were able to accomplish in their life.

Josephine was a Graduate of the former Scottdale High School Class of 1948. She was also associated with her brother Ninnie in operations of the former Club Lido (Ninnie’s).

Josephine was a kind, compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She took incredible pride in her work and worked hard all of her life alongside her husband.  She taught her children how to be hard working individuals and loved them all very dearly.
Josephine is survived by her children: Valerie (Dana) Eachus, Vivian Boyer, Mark Boyer, Diane (Dennis) Figg, M. John (Leah) Sandzimier, Jr., and Joseph (Valerie) Sandzimier.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Krista (Ryann), Mariann (Craig), Gina (Landon), Spencer, Ashlea (Gregory), Caitlin (Kristofer), Kirsty, Gretchen (Craig), Hillary (Colby), Johnathan, Lauren (Scott), Caitlin (Vinny), Morgan.

Her Great Grandchildren Dylan, Eli, Mya, Giavanna, Nichollas, Naomy, And a Great Grandchild due in May.

She is also survived by her brother, Anthony (Ninnie) and Ann, and numerous Brother-in-Laws and Sister-in-Laws. She also is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, Kelsey and Jordan Sandzimier.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving Husband of 65 years, Marion Sandzimier (November 5, 2017)

Josephine’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 11A.M. – 8 P.M.
Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 9AM until which time Prayers of Transfer will be offered at 10:30 AM in the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, with her Pastor, Rev Elmer Alforque, as Celebrant.
Committal Service and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.

The St. Joseph Society will recite the Rosary, Tuesday at 12:30 PM in the Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Williams and Excela Health Home Care for the exemplary care, compassion and love that was shown to Josephine and her family.

In lieu of customary remembrances, Josephine’s family requests memorial donations for Josephine to be made to St. Joseph's Church in Everson and mailed to 416 S Broadway, Scottdale, PA 15683.

Mask are REQUIRED to be worn for the Visitation and the Funeral.
