Joseph V. Argiro, Sr., known affectionately as Joe to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 17, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 29, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Anna Konieg. Joe was a longtime and faithful member of Breakneck Church of God. Joe attended George Westinghouse School, where he laid the foundations for a life characterized by hard work and determination. Following his educational pursuits, Joe answered the call of duty and served with honor in the U.S. Navy, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and service. After his military service, Joe returned to civilian life and became a respected member of the Union as a Boilermaker. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were unwavering, and he took great pride in contributing his skills to various projects over the years. Joe's professional life was paralleled by his involvement in the community, where he held the esteemed position of former Vice Commander of the Scottdale VFW Post #7781. His dedication to his fellow veterans was a testament to his enduring spirit of camaraderie and loyalty. Joe's passions extended beyond his professional achievements. He was an avid fisherman, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. Antique cars were another of Joe's loves, and he could often be found restoring or admiring these classic beauties, a hobby that allowed him to connect with fellow enthusiasts and create lasting memories. Above all, Joe cherished the time spent with his family. His son, Joseph V. "Vinny" Argiro and wife Vera of Shelocta, Pa.; his grandson, Christopher Argiro and Abigail of Fort Myers, Fla.; his sister, Diane Fretts of Scottdale; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Joe was preceded in death by: His Wife, Arlene P. Richter Argiro (Dec.1, 2019) and Brother: Alfred Argiro Joe’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 1PM-3PM at which time his Funeral Service will be held with Pastor Joe Wingrove, Officiating. Private Interment will take place at Green Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Breakneck Church of God at 798 Breakneck Rd. Connellsville, Pa. 15425 The Scottdale Everson Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors on Sunday at 2:45PM.
