Jon Paul Overly

Jon Paul Overly, 47 of Connellsville, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2023 at Independence Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born September 17, 1975 in Westmoreland County, the son of the late Donald R. and Shirley B. Frey Overly, who passed away August 28, 2012 and Nov. 27, 1994 respectively. Jon was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1993. He was Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in support of Desert Storm specializing in Aerospace Maintenance. He was the recipient of Air Force Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, while attaining the rank of E-1. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing small engines and took pride in restoring an old dirt bike. Jon enjoyed playing the guitar and shooting pool with his friends. Jon will forever remain in the memories of those who knew and loved him, He is survived by: Brother: Paul Jennings Overly and wife Kathy of Clyde, OH. In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by: Brother: Donn R. Overly (Dec. 3, 2016) Private Interment will be in Mt. Joy of the Brethren Cemetery, Mt.
