John C. Franks, 96 of Scottdale, passed away February 15,2022, in Walnut Ridge Memory Care.
He was born February 5,1926 in East Millsboro, Son of the Late John and Martha Miller Franks.
John attended Brownsville High School. He was drafted while in High school into the United States Navy, which he served in for two years. After he returned, he worked for as a Miner for Sterling Salt Mining for 23 years. He also worked at Nemacolin Mining for a number of years before he retired.
John attended Jacobs Creek United Methodist Church. He was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. He enjoyed a variety of Crafts, John also loved to make his own Wine.
John proudly served his Country from 1944 to 1946 in the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of Seaman 1st Class.
John was a loving Husband, Father, and Brother to his family and a friend to many.
John may be gone from our lives but will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
His loving Wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Marker Franks whom he married June 12, 1971.

John was an honorable and kind man who loved his family and friends and was loved in return.
John’s Family will greet friends Saturday from 2PM -5PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683, with his Funeral Service to begin at 5PM with Pastor Shawn Robbins, Officiating.
