Jerry L. Sprinkle, 78 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully at Independent Health System, Westmoreland Hospital on May 23, 2024, just three days shy of his 79th birthday. Born on May 26, 1945, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania the son the late Jesse J. Sprinkle, Sr and Ruth Lind Sprinkle. Jerry's life was characterized by his intelligence, friendly nature, and gentle spirit. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca L. Bainbridge Sprinkle of Scottdale, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love. He was the father of, Joshua Carl Sprinkle and his wife Antionette of Kutztown, and Jessica R. Schwabenbauer and her husband Nick of Corsica. Jerry took pride in his grandchildren, Kennedy Ruth and Juliana Jane Schwabenbauer of Corsica, and Solar Sprinkle of Kutztown. He was a beloved brother to Nancy Keyser, Jim Sprinkle II and his wife Jane all of Scottdale and Rod Sprinkle and his wife Barb. Jerry was a proud graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1963. He valued education and continued to expand his knowledge at Penn Technical Institute of Pittsburgh and the Western School of Respiratory Therapy. His academic pursuits led to a fulfilling career where he utilized his skills to care for others. Professionally, Jerry was known for his expertise and dedication. He began his career as an Electronic Technician for Channel 40 in Wall, Pennsylvania, and later worked for Power X in Youngwood. His last place of retirement was from UPMC Pittsburgh and Highlands Hospital of Connellsville, where he served as a Respiratory Therapist for 20 years. Jerry's commitment to his profession and the well-being of his patients was evident through his hard work and compassionate care. In addition to his work in respiratory therapy, Jerry was formerly employed as a photographer with Gray Studio of Scottdale, where he captured countless cherished moments for families throughout the community. Jerry's interests extended beyond his professional life; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and cherished the time he spent with his family. His gentle demeanor and friendly smile were a source of comfort and happiness to all who knew him. Jerry’s family will greet friends Friday, May 31, 2024 from 2 – 4PM & 6-7:30PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. His Funeral Service will begin at 7:30PM in the Funeral Home. The Funeral Home Doors will be locked in between visiting hours.
