James Kenneth Hyde, 74 of Alverton, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 26, 2022 in Heritage Personal Care Home, Somerset.
He was born February 28, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa. the son of the late Kenneth James and Lilly Belle King Hyde.
Jim was a member of Center Bethel Church of God, Alverton.
He was a Graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1966. Jim was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War from 1968- 1974 as a Medic, while obtaining the rank of SP5. He was the recipient of the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter M-14 Medals.
Jim was employed by U.S. Steel, Clairton Works in the Coke Battery for 30 years. He was most recently employed by Scottdale Borough as the Meter Man for 10 years.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his Children and Grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events.
Jim is gone from our lives, but will forever remain the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

A Gathering of Friends will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683, Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4PM – 7PM at which time his Memorial Service will begin.
Private Inurnment will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Bullskin, Twp.
Full Military Honors will be accorded by the Scottdale - Everson Honor Guard will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 6:45PM, prior to the Memorial Service in the Funeral Home.
