Irene M. Patrick, born on July 30, 1927, in Everson, PA, passed away peacefully of natural causes, November 25, 2023, at the age of 96 years, in St. Anne’s Home, Greensburg. Irene was a loving, selfless, and gentle soul who dedicated her life to her faith and family. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her steadfast faith in God. Irene was the youngest of twelve children and the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophia Oles Patrick, her six sisters: Jean Patrick, Gladys Farrell, Louise Penn, Julie Rizza, Margaret Proud, and Mary in infancy, and her five brothers: Louis, Frank, Vince, Joseph, and Martin Patrick. She was also preceded in death by her Niece, Peggy Banasick, and Nephew, John Banasick. And a great-nephew, John Swank, Jr. Irene is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who she cherished dearly. A graduate of Scottdale High School, Irene worked for several years as a waitress at the Scottdale American Legion. However, her primary role was always within her family. Choosing to stay at home to care for her parents and siblings, Irene embodied the true definition of a Christian woman, always putting God and her family first. Her actions and decisions were guided by her deep faith and her commitment to those she loved. Irene was a longtime and faithful member of The Partner Parish of St. John R.C. Church, Scottdale. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing a source of strength, comfort, and guidance. When she was able, she attended church daily to pray the Rosary. Her devotion to her faith was an inspiration to those around her and will continue to be a guiding light for her loved ones. Beyond her faith and family, Irene was known for her kindness and compassion. She had a gentle spirit that brought comfort to those around her. Her selfless nature was evident in her actions, always prioritizing the needs of others, above her own. Her loving demeanor and kind heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Irene's life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and family. She touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and selfless love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces. As we mourn the loss of Irene, we also celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy she leaves behind. A Private visitation and Funeral Mass will be held in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with Rev. Elmer Alforque as Celebrant.
