Irene L. (Vinzani) Conty

Irene L. Conty, of Scottdale will joyously be reunited with her husband, grandson and siblings. She peacefully passed on April 29, 2024, at the age of 88 at Hillside Estates, Connellsville. Born on October 9, 1935, in Scottdale the daughter of the late Ascenzo and Lucia Chiaravalle Vinzani. Irene was a proud graduate of Scottdale Joint High School and went on to share her warm and friendly nature with the community, first as an employee at the Fort Pitt Shoe Store, which she adored, and later as a dedicated Switch Board Operator at the Mennonite Publishing House for over 35 years. Irene found her greatest joy in the company of her family. She was a devoted mother to Anita M. Frederick and her husband Ronald, Sr. of Scottdale, Cindy Grabiak and her husband Rudy of Scottdale, Ronald Conty and his wife Mary of Mt. Pleasant, and Philip Conty and his wife Darla of Everson. Irene's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply. She was known as the fun and loving grandma to her grandchildren; Robert Frederick and his wife Sarah, Renee Negri and her husband Ryan, her granddaughter-in-law Elizabeth Frederick, Randy Grabiak and his wife Jenna, Matthew Grabiak, Eric Grabiak and his wife Tracey, Brianna Stone and her husband Mike, Lindsay Conty, Morgan Conty, Carly Conty, Philip Conty and Jenna Conty. Her legacy continued to flourish with her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Colin, and Dylan Frederick; Andrew, Gabriella, and William Frederick; Brynn and Dominic Negri; Blake, Nash, and Briar Grabiak; Miles Grabiak; and Emery and Ellis Stone. Each of them brought immense happiness and pride to Irene's life. Irene was the beloved sister of Agnes Hudock of Scottdale, and she cherished the time spent in her company, especially their outings to the Bullskin Senior Center. She was a source of strength and love for her family, and her presence was a comfort to all who knew her. In addition to her Parents, Irene was preceded in death by her dear husband, Philip J. Conty, who passed away on October 3, 1994, and her beloved Grandson, Ronald Frederick, Jr., who left this world too soon on February 3, 2022. Her brothers Ben, Ted, Alfred, Gib, and Edward, and her sisters Sunda, Amelia, and Louise in eternal rest. A Public Funeral Liturgy will be held, Friday, May 3, 2024 at 10:30AM in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale with Fr. Edwin Rubido as Celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that Memorials be made in memory of Irene to St. Jude's Children's Hospital Research.
