Helen Mae Blackburn Marhefka, 93 of Fourth Ave., Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 16, 2021, while being comforted by those who loved and cared for her.
She was born May 11, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Margaret Anna Kapr Blackburn, who died April 1, 1961 and May 5, 1999 respectively.
Helen was a life member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale.
She enjoyed working puzzle books, crocheting Afghans', which she would distribute to not only her neighbors, but throughout Germany, Kentucky, California, New York and Canada. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter Nancy and her weekly phone conversations with her cousin, Maxine Kapr Dorman. She enjoyed donating scarves and small blankets to children who were in need and in Shelters.
Helen Mae loved talking to her close neighbors and friends whom she often joined them for lunch and dinner,

Her Eleven Grandchildren: Leslie Marhefka, Tara Steiner and husband Steve, Kristen Clark and husband Seth, Sara Miller and husband Brett, Katelyn Marhefka, Jill Loop and husband Mead, Jenna Moore and husband Jared and Julie Eiford and husband Ronald, Chad Miedel, Adam Warburton and wife Colleen and Brandi Warburton,.
Her Eleven Great Grandchildren:
Madison & Maura Giacomelli, Lucas Steiner, Savannah, Khloe and Kaylee Clark, Cassandra Loop, Isabella & McKenna Loop & Joey Marhefka and Ella Miller.
In addition to her parents, Helen will once again be reunited with her husband, Joseph A. Marhefka, (June 28, 2000)
And her Grandson, Daniel James Marhefka, (June 10, 2009)
Family and friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 2 PM to 8PM. and Monday from Noon to 2 PM when Prayers of transfer will be recited Monday, at 2PM in the Funeral Home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 2:30PM in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church, Scottdale with her Pastor, Rev. Elmer Alforque, Celebrant.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.
