Harry E. Mehallick, 91 of Cincinnati, Ohio and formerly of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, late Monday evening, April 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Scottdale on August 1, 1930 the son of the late Michael and Mary Koval Mehallick, who died Feb. 08, 1986 and Aug.16, 1965, respectively.
Harry was a longtime member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, where he served as an Usher and Treasurer. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society.
Harry was a Graduate of Scottdale High School Class of 1948. He then attended Clarion State Teachers College, where he graduated with a B.S. Degree 1952 and decided to further his education and attend the University of Pittsburgh where he then obtained his Master’s Degree in Education 1961.
He was employed at Scottland School for Veteran Children and Southmoreland School District where he taught for 39 years and retired 1992. Harry also taught at Penn State as a Part Time Instructor in Safety Education.
Harry was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army as a Corporal, where he served from 1953 – 1954 in the Korean Conflict. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3368, Mt. Pleasant, Pa., Knights of Columbus Father Lambing Council holding rank of Third Degree, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and was a member of the Timberview Townhouse Owners Association for the past 15 years as an Officer.
Harry is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

Harry’s family will greet Friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 6PM – 8PM and Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1PM – 6PM.
A Panachida Service will be held Monday at 9:30AM in the Funeral Home,with the Divine Liturgy to be Intoned at 10AM, in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale with his Pastor, Rev. Oleh Seremchuk, as Celebrant.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
A Parastas Service will be held at 5PM in the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 24, 2022.
