Frank C. Catalina, 92 formerly of Tarrs, passed away Thursday Morning, July 15, 2021 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant.
He was born October 27, 1928 in Scottdale a son of the late Frank C. and Mary Messena Catalina.
Frank was a Graduate of East Huntingdon High School Class of 1947. He was a retired Forman for Green Acres Construction with 20 years of service. Previously, he was employed on the family farm; he was also a Supervisor for PA. Turnpike Commission, Schallers Bakery of Greensburg. He also worked at Cratty Construction of Pittsburgh and Penn Line Services of Scottdale.
After Frank’s retirement, he was employed by Norvelt Golf Club, owned by his Son-in-law, Larry, where he was instrumental in building the new Front Nine as well as Luke’s Links. While at the golf club, he also enjoyed playing cards.
Frank was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker all his life, no job was too big and no job was too dirty.
He enjoyed and was devoted to watching his grandchildren participate in all their sporting events throughout their lives. Frank loved coaching and building athletic fields in the area, that children have played on for years.
Frank was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother to his family.
Frank is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his loving and devoted wife, 66 years, Betty L. Nemesek Catalina, of Tarrs, whom he married Feb. 17, 1955;

Frank ‘s family and friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 W. Pittsburgh St. Scottdale Sunday from 2PM – 4PM & 6PM – 8PM.
Frank’s Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 19, 2021, at 10AM in the Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bane, of the New Stanton Church, officiating.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Tarrs.
