Frances M. Haggerty Grimm,95, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 18, 1930, in Connellsville a Daughter of the late Raphael Haggerty and Ethel Fuller Haggerty.
Frances was a loving, spirited, and gentle woman whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. She carried herself with quiet strength, deep faith, and a generous heart, and she touched many lives through her kindness, her steady devotion to family, and her lifelong commitment to serving others. Her life was marked by grace, kindness, and an enduring love for the simple joys of home, church, work, and family.
She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1948, and continued her education by training to become a certified Nurse Aid. She also took classes in banking at Yough Bank of Uniontown, preparing herself for a career that would reflect both her diligence and her trustworthiness. Frances was employed by the former Yough Bank, now Mid Penn, where she served as a bank teller for 12 years before retiring. She was respected by her coworkers and customers alike for her dependable nature and warm personality.
In addition to her work in banking, Frances was also the owner and operator of Grimm’s Leisenring Store for 10 years. Through that business, she became a familiar and friendly face to many in the community. Her work ethic and dedication were evident in everything she did, and she approached each responsibility with care and pride. She also enjoyed being part of a bowling league at Yough Lanes, where she found friendship and enjoyment in the company of others.
Faith was an important part of Frances’s life. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Partner Parish of Scottdale, where she served faithfully in many ways. She was a member of the CD of A, Chapter 314, served as a CCD teacher for many years, and most recently served as a Eucharistic Minister. Her devotion to her church reflected the depth of her beliefs and her desire to live a life of service and compassion for her church and family.
Frances cherished her family above all else and treasured the time she spent with them. She especially enjoyed being with her loved ones and taking care of her best friend, Thelma Haas, with whom she shared many hours and much companionship. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in their accomplishments, their visits, and the many memories they built together over the years.
