Florence E. "Flo" Burke, 89, a beacon of love and gentleness, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She was born on April 25, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Clara Siecinski. Florence was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. Flo was a proud alumnus of Southmoreland High School's Class of 1955, whose diligent hands and creative spirit led her to a fulfilling career as a seamstress at Connellsville Sportswear for a decade. Her meticulous craftsmanship was not only a testament to her skill but also a reflection of her dedication to her craft. An avid lover of puzzles, Flo found joy in the challenge of seek-and-find games and the tranquility of reading. She was a dedicated member of the Polish American Club of Everson and held dear the memories of her eight years at St. Joseph Polish School. She is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her sons, Michael W. Burke and his wife Lee, and Daniel A. Burke and his wife Grace, all of Scottdale; her adored grandchildren, Dominic D. Burke, Marteine F. Burke, and Michaela R. Hughes and her husband Marty. Flo also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Ronald Burke and his wife Patricia of Greensburg, her sister-in-law, Patricia Burke of Scottdale, and her special cousin, Flo Robaugh and her husband Francis "Dutch" of Owensdale. In addition to her Mother, Flo was preceded in death by: Her Husband, Martin “Mick” Burke (June 9, 2021) Flo embodied the essence of a loving and gentle matriarch. Her spirit, characterized by warmth and kindness, resonated deeply with everyone she met. She instilled in her family the importance of love, compassion, and the joy of living a life filled with spirited enthusiasm. Florence’s family will greet friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 4PM – 8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. Prayers of Transfer will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:30AM in the Funeral Home, with her Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. The family would like to extend their Thanks to the staff at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home and Suncrest Hospice for their care and professionalism that was shown to Flo and her family.
