Eva O'Roark Obituary

Eva Jean O'Roark, 94, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her adored dog, Gigi early Sunday morning, September 29, 2024. She was born June 12,1930 in Normalville the daughter of the late Grant Firestone and Eloise Brooks. Throughout her life Eva Jean loved traveling to Myrtle Beach with her beloved husband Jack and her entire family in their 5th wheel camper. She also enjoyed baking, trips to Lancaster, gardening, crafting, shopping, and was an avid sports fan (she was even known to ignore phone calls during a Steelers game). She was a dog lover and always had a poodle by her side. In her later years, her ideal day would be a trip to Sam's Club, Marshall's, and the Olive Garden with the people she loved. She was known to speak her mind and had an ornery sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by everyone that loved her. She was preceded in death by Jack O'Roark (husband), Edward O'Roark (son), Darell Wayne O'Roark (infant son), Kalen Polito (grandson), Grant Firestone (father), Eloise Thomas (mother), Shirley Shallenberger (sister), Della Firestone (sister), and Albert Firestone (brother). She is survived by her two loving daughters, Jacque Premus (Jerry) and Michelle Saylor. She was lovingly called Gummy by her grandchildren: Chris Premus (Jemma), Mike Premus (Angela), Adrianne Polito, Tiffany Riggin (Mark), Kara Saylor (Matt), and Megan Ragaller (Tyler) and her great grandchildren: Kameryn Premus, Elliot Premus, Sayde Premus, Roan Premus, Jack Ragaller, and Rylee Ragaller. Eva Jean is also survived by her two sisters, Carol Moyers and Bonnie Gaborko along with a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Sandy Mitchell and Wendy Reese, who treated our Mom/Gummy with love and respect. A private visitation will be held at the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 and followed by a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass. Committal Services and Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
