Dr. Joseph Slezak Obituary

Dr. Joseph Adrain Slezak, M.D., 86 of Keefer Rd. Connellsville, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, April 1, 2023 at Latrobe Select Specialty Hospital, in the presence of his loving family.

He was born March 8, 1937 in McKeesport, the son of the late Francis C. and Marie G. Messher Slezak.

Dr. Slezak was a devout Catholic and member of St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant.

He was a Graduate of Charleroi High School Class of 1955 also a Graduate of Washington-Jefferson College 1959 and Jefferson Medical School in 1963.

He practiced as an OBGYN at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Connellsville Hospital and Westmoreland Hospital with 33 years of expertise and thru those years he proudly delivered over 6,000 children who were all his pride and joy.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served with the 855 Medical Group from July 1964- July 1966 during the Vietnam War, while obtaining the rank of Captain.

Dr. Slezak is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

His Loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Georgia Nicholson Slezak, whom he married November 22, 1962,

In honoring the wishes of Dr. Slezak a public Funeral Mass will be held, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 2 PM at St. Pius X R.C. church, Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Daniel Carr as Celebrant and Fr. John A. Sedlak as Concelebrant.

Interment will be held with Military Honors at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies at the convenience of the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:30AM at Bullskin Twp Fire Hall with lunch and refreshments to be served.
