Dorothy A. Gillott, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in Greensburg, Pa., at the age of 93. Born on May 2, 1932, in Bullskin Twp., the daughter of the late Fuller and Frances Landy Gillott. Dorothy lived a life marked by love, spirit, and unwavering faith. Dorothy, affectionately known by those who loved her, was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her. Her radiant smile and generous heart made her a beloved figure in her community. She was a dedicated parishioner of the Partner Parish of St. John R.C. Church in Scottdale, where she not only served faithfully throughout her life but also found great solace and joy in attending morning mass daily after her retirement. Family was the cornerstone of Dorothy's life. She is survived by her attentive brother, Kenneth Gillott and his wife Pat of Connellsville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories of her. Dorothy's love for her family was evident in everything she did, from the delicious meals she cooked to the meticulous care she took of her flower gardens, which were a true testament to her nurturing spirit. Though she is now reunited with her parents and her siblings, Virginia Gillott, Floyd Gillott, and Verna Edwards, who preceded her in death, Dorothy's legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Her life was a beautiful reflection of the values she held dear, and she will be remembered for her loving nature, her spirited laughter, and her deep and abiding faith. Dorothy’s family will greet friends on Thursday, September 25 ,2025 from 4PM – 8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. Prayers of Transfer will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:30AM with her Funeral Mass to follow in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale with Fr. Edwin Rubido, Celebrant. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.
