Dorothy M. Albright, affectionately known as Dodo to those who knew her best, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, at the age of 73, in Greensburg, Pa. Born on September 30, 1950, in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Arthur and Antoinette D’Amato Hough. Dorothy was a beacon of kindness and generosity throughout her life.
Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving daughters, Angaline Albright of Scottdale and Molly Augustine and her husband Allen Armel of Everson. Dorothy's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Damian Augustine of New Stanton, Nancy Landis of Scottdale, and Charles Augustine of Everson, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Layla Landis and Jaxen Palmer.
She was the beloved sister to Theresa Earnesty of Mt. Pleasant, Melinda McKenzie of Ohio, Lydia Harris and her husband Bruce of Scottdale, and Karen Baker and her husband Lloyd of Youngwood. Dorothy's presence will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her gentle spirit.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 37 years, Ernest Albright, who passed before her. She was also preceded by her parents and her siblings, Rita and Kathy Hough, and brothers Joseph, Arthur (Gene), Ronald, Ernest, and George.
Dorothy spent her professional life as a cook at various restaurants, where she delighted many with her culinary skills. However, her favorite and most cherished role was that of a caregiver to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family knew Dorothy as the epitome of loving and gentle. She approached life with a selfless heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer a comforting word.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 6PM – 7PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 with her Memorial Service to begin at 7PM with Pastor Jason Kramer, officiating.
