Deane W. Truszka

Deane W. Truszka, 36 of Kooser Rd. Scottdale died Monday morning, October 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle.

He was born April 4, 1985 in Jeannette, Pa the son of Robert and Tammy Edwards Truszka of Somerset.

Deane was affiliated with the House of Prayers, Somerset. He was a graduate of Norwin High School Class of 2004. While in high school, he was also in Culinary Arts at CWCTC VOTEC.

Once he graduated, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2005, in the Food Service Operations. While there he was the recipient National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

He then was employed as a Corrections Officer at Laurel Highlands and Somerset.

Both Deane and he wife Priscilla were awarded the Foster Parent Plaque for 5 years of parenting from Professional Family Care of Johnstown.

In his free time, Deane enjoyed fishing at numerous lakes.

Deane is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

His loving and devoted wife of 15 years, whom he married December 13, 2005,

Deane’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 Wednesday from 2 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11AM in the Funeral Home, with Pastor Jason Upton, Officiating.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery Association, Middlecreek Twp.

The family requests everyone to wear masks for visitation and services. Please refrain from hugging and touching the family due to health concerns.
