David Brown Obituary

David E. Brown, 73, passed away on June 2, 2026, at his residence He was born on June 2, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lawrence and Doris Burns Brown. Dave will be remembered as a loving, selfless, and gentle man whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. Dave was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1973. His years there were an important part of his early life, and he carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and respect with him throughout the years. For a number of years, Dave worked as a maintenance worker and dishwasher at Nino’s restaurant, where he was appreciated for his dependable spirit and strong work ethic. He also served on the Mt. Pleasant street department for seven years. In every position he held, Dave approached his responsibilities with humility and care, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him. Outside of work, Dave found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful moments. He enjoyed collecting die cast cars and listening to all types of music. During the summer, he looked forward to attending classic car shows, where he could enjoy the sights, sounds, and shared enthusiasm of fellow car lovers. He also loved going for walks and taking time to look at the flowers and trees, appreciating the beauty of the world around him. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family, which was the center of his life and the source of his greatest happiness. Dave is survived by his wife, Tammy S. Albright Brown of Scottdale. He is also survived by his children, Kathleen S. Leighliter and her husband Joseph of Saltsburg, and Robert E. Brown and his wife YuVawn of Mt. Pleasant. His family was a deep source of pride and love, and he cherished the bonds he shared with each of them. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Darik Hall and Renee Weaver, Lukas Hall and Shannon Weaver, Blake Hall and Faith, Cassidy Bates, Jared Brown and Hailey, Kaylee Brown and Matthew Combs, Austin Brown, Robert Brown, Jr., and Joseph Leighliter, Jr. Dave was blessed with a large and loving family, and his grandchildren brought him great joy. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Bryson, Leighann, Saige, Serena, Rayne, Everest, Ariel, and Elijah, Katie Smith and Brantley Main. Dave is also survived by his sisters, Jonette Evans of Scottdale and Rosemary Hay and her husband Robbie of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his Parents, Dave was preceded in death by: His Siblings, Barbara Martinowski and Lawrence Brown Dave’s family will greet friends on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 2 – 4PM & 6-8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11AM in the Funeral Home. Committal Services and Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, to help defray costs for the family.
