David Brown Obituary

David W. Brown, 69, passed away peacefully at his residence in Greensburg, Pa on December 6, 2025. Born on July 28, 1956, in Greensburg the son of Nancy Neal Brown and the late Herbert Brown. Dave was a graduate of Latrobe High School and took classes at Slippery Rock. David's early life in Greensburg set the foundation for a man who was not only incredibly skilled with his hands but also possessed a mind that thrived on innovation. An inventor at heart, David's passion for crafting and creating led him to design and weld his own gym equipment. His ingenuity was a testament to his resourceful spirit. A writer, he had an extensive knowledge of fitness and martial arts, sharing his insights and wisdom through the written word. David's professional life was characterized by his role as a factory warehouse worker at Super Value, where he dedicated over three decades of service. When David set his mind to something he excelled and became the best at whatever it was. Above all, David's role as a father and, in the last 3 months, as a grandfather, was where he found his greatest joy. His daughter, Jennifer A. Varga, along with her husband Cameron of Irwin, and his cherished granddaughter Charlie Varga, were the lights of his life. David looked at his granddaughter with such adoration, as if she truly hung the moon and stars. His love for his family was evident to all who knew him, and his presence as a nurturing father and grandfather will be deeply missed. In addition to his father, David was preceded in death by: His Wife, Betsy A. Lane Brown (Nov. 17, 2021) His dearest friend, his Shitzu: “Oliver” In honoring David’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. His Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.
