Clyde A. Higbee, 74 of Scottdale, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 13, 2022 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, while being comforted by his family.
He was born May 18, 1947 in Brownsville, the son of the late Clyde Martin and Virginia Fern Higbee.
Clyde was a graduate of Southmoreland High School. He was a former employee of U.S. Steel Clairton Works with 35 years of service as a Foreman on B Battery.
He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam for 3 years with HQ Co 3rd Battalion, Fourth AIT BDE USATC while attaining the Rank of E-5. He was awarded the Viet-Nam Service Medal with 3 Bars and the Good Conduct Medal. Clyde was proud to have his name inscribed on the Memorial Plaque at the Scottdale Veterans Memorial.
Clyde always cared for others in a variety of ways. He also donated to the Disabled American Vets and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Clyde is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

Clyde’s family will greet friends Monday from 9AM – 10:45AM from in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683, with his Funeral Liturgy to be held at 11AM in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Sikon, Celebrant. The Scottdale Everson Veterans Association will perform Full Military Honors at 10:45am in the Funeral Home.
Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.
