Charles W. Bowman, 78 of Everson, departed from this life on Thursday, August 14, 2025, in Excela Health Independent Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Born the Son of the late Robert and Dorothy Crosby Bowman on September 4, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, PA, Charles led a life brimming with love, service, and song. He was a beacon of joy and strength for his family and the community that he so dearly loved.
After graduating from Scottdale High School in 1964, Charles embarked on a journey of dedication, enlisting in the United States Army. His service during the Vietnam War found him stationed in Germany. Once his military service concluded, Charles returned home and began a longstanding career with Duraloy Blawknox Corp, where he worked as a Foundryman for 39 years. His commitment to excellence continued post-retirement, as he joined the team at Walmart, dedicating a further 9 years to serving his local community.
On August 15, 1997, Charles married the love of his life, Debra Cramer Bowman. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, kindness, and an abundance of love. He was a devoted husband, a role he cherished above all else. As a father, Charles instilled values of integrity and joy in his children, Dawn Townsend of Scottdale, Wendy Weimer of Greensburg, and Lisa Sarsfield and her husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant. His guiding light shone brightly upon his grandchildren, Hope Sarsfield, Hunter Sarsfield and his fiancé, Alexis Hensel, Aaron Townsend, Tara Townsend, Skylar Townsend, and Kadee Kline. He also held a special place in his heart for his great-granddaughter, Scarlett Gowton, cherishing every moment spent with her.
Charles was a beloved brother to Roberta Fabiszewski and her husband Larry of Scottdale and Sandy Williams and her husband Rick of Virginia. He also shared a special bond with his brother-in-laws, Joseph Cramer and his wife Karenof Scottdale and Jeff Ritenour and his wife Connie of Melcroft as well as numerous other brother and sister-in-laws. His life was enriched by the presence of many nieces and nephews who will forever remember his warmth and the wisdom he imparted. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his Special Brother-in-law Earl Cramer, Jr., and his niece Danielle North.
Family was the cornerstone of Charles' life, with Saturdays fondly known as "Family Fun Time." He was a man who could burst into song at a moment's notice, creating a melody for anything that came to mind. His spontaneous serenades will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as echoes of his vibrant spirit.
Charles W. Bowman was an amazing husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, service, and song will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
