Catherine (Bauer) Detwiler

Catherine “ Cutchie” Bauer Detwiler passed away peacefully August 3, 2023 at Lafayette Manor in Uniontown. She was born in Scottdale, PA, on October 9, 1942. A devout Catholic all of her life, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Scottdale and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her solution to all of life’s problems was to pray a rosary, and her prayers have helped many. Cathy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and feeding any hungry person or animal. Known for her heart of gold, she was loved by all who knew her. She made new friends everywhere she went. Cathy always said when she passed away that she would roller skate in heaven, since she was physically unable to for so many years. She said she would tend to God’s garden. Though we rejoice in the fact that she will no longer be in pain, she will be greatly missed.

Cathy is survived by her only child Kimberly Genova and her husband Bart of Maggie Valley, NC; her adored granddaughter Ashley Rose and her husband Michael of Lincolnton, NC; her devoted niece, Judy Wiltrout and her son Michael; her loving  niece Saundra Bloom and husband Ricky; sisters-in-law Delores Glowacki and Helen Lubovinsky and her son Joe, as well as several other godchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella Bauer, brothers Tom, John, Francis and Joseph, sisters Elenor and Gladys.

In honoring Cathy's wishes, inurnment will be private. Cathy's arrangements have been entrusted to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to Frank Kapr Funeral Home,Inc., in her memory.
