Brook W. Garsteck, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Brook left this world unexpectedly due to a cardiac event on May 28, 2024, at the age of 49, at Independence Health System Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Brook was born on September 16, 1974, the son of Joseph R. Garsteck of Mt. Pleasant and the late Mary Roberta Connors Garsteck, who passed away on Jan. 31, 1981. Brook, known for his friendly demeanor, thoughtful nature, and selfless character, lived a life that was a testament to these traits. On August 3, 2002, Brook married the love of his life, Crystal G. Miller Garsteck, in a union that was blessed with four beautiful children: Christina M., Samantha E., Rebecca L., and Roberta J. Garsteck, who were his pride and joy. A graduate of Geibel High School's Class of 1993, Brook furthered his education at Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Business. His education paved the way for a successful career as a home builder in the Scottdale area, where he contributed to the community with his expertise for approximately 20 years. Brook's most recent professional role was that of a Line Mechanic at Crown, Cork and Seal, where his dedication and work ethic were highly regarded. Apart from his professional accomplishments, Brook was a man of many interests and talents. His passion for working on cars was well-known, and he could often be found tinkering in his garage, bringing old engines back to life with his skilled hands. Yet, it was the time spent with his family that Brook cherished most. Brook's memory will be carried on by his devoted father, Joseph R. Garsteck of Mt. Pleasant; his loving wife, Crystal; his adoring children at home; his brother, Scott Garsteck of Scottdale; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller, Jr. and Heidi Hixson of Connellsville; his father-in-law, Kenneth W. Miller, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant; and his dear nieces, Sara M. Garsteck and Darren King of Ruffsdale and Emily E. Garsteck of Connellsville. Brook's legacy will also live on through his six great-nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held, Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 2 – 4PM & 6- 7:30PM at which time his Funeral Liturgy will be held with Fr. Peter Guardiano of The Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church, Scottdale. The Funeral Home Doors will be locked in between visiting hours.
