Born on January 17, 1968, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Samuel Mackrella and Edna Cunnard Ganter. Barb led a life characterized by her loving nature, unwavering optimism, and kindness that touched the hearts of many.
Barb's journey began as a proud graduate of Southmoreland High School's Class of 1986. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in healthcare, and she successfully obtained her medical assistant certificate from a vocational school.
In her personal life, Barb was a spirited soul with a zest for adventure. She found joy and freedom on the open road, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles alongside her husband, William Hilland. Together, they shared countless memories, exploring the world with a sense of shared excitement.
Barb's greatest treasures were her family members, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She was a beloved mother to Cassandra "Cassie" Lusty and her husband Christopher of Mt. Pleasant. Her loving Husband, William Hilland and his Son, Ian of Acme also Cassie’s Father, Tom Thomas, Jr. and his children, Trinity and Sean Thomas, whom she loved like her own.
Her role as "Nana" to her adoring grandchildren, Joylynne, Joclynne, and Kennedy Lusty, was one she embraced with every ounce of her being, showering them with love and attention. She also held a special place in her heart for her fur babies, Daisy and Bo, who provided her with companionship and unconditional love. Also surviving Barb are a number of Cousins and dear Friends which she considered her extended family.
